Parc De La Promonade Bellerive

Out in the eastern section of the Montreal island is a place of calmness, tranquility and wonder. That being the Bellerive park. This park offers a great view of Charron Island of Longueuil, the ship yards adjacent to it and of coarse the big mighty ships that come in and out of the bay. It's always an excitement when a large freighter passes through. The park makes it possible to have barbecues and play games during the summer. The games can be throwing bean bags to giant chess to knocking down tin cans. Included there is a stage and a baseball field. There are also shelters to keep cool from the hot sun, many benches to sit and watch as well as a main house that has an ice cream shop and bathrooms. A dirt path runs through the park offering pedestrians to tour it. Geese and other waterfowl are a common site, along with sea-doos and sail boats.

There is also a ferry that takes people to and from Charron Island. Once on that boat one can get a good and different view of the large ship sorting yards, the highway 25 tunnel ventilators and the downtown core of Montreal. The parking lot is small but parking on the street is not an issue if one chooses to drive to the park. Public transit is easy. There are three buses, the 28, 185 or 189 bus to take. They all leave from the Honore-Beaugrand metro station on the green line.
